M CAFE | AYALA MUSEUM
Saturday, 18 November 2006 | By Mike | Category: Asian, Desserts, Filipino / Pinoy, Fish, Glorious Food, Meat, Pinoy Food, SnacksThe M Cafe at the Ayala Museum has been a regular breakfast venue for me during the first two months of my ‘homecoming’ because of its proximity [a short five-minute walk] from where I was staying. It is a perfect place for an unhurried breakfast or any meal during the day and of course, for one of my favourite pastimes —- people watching! People watching at the Cafe’s al fresco dining area is where some former colleagues, acquaintances and long-lost friends have come to discover that I was back home already!
Recently, I was there again with some friends for an impromptu breakfast meeting and ordered my favourite treats: the “M Umaga” and “Sticky Rice with Mango.”

M Umaga, traditional Pinoy [Filipino] breakfast: garlic fried rice, longganisa, beef tapa, daing the bangus, roasted tomato and fried eggs.

Their Sticky Rice with Mango came presented the way it’s shown in the photograph above . . . I liked the way they had the mango rolled into the sticky rice, however, I just thought it would have looked more appetizing had it been presented something like what I have playfully done, below, before finally devouring the “malagkit” treat!

I had breakfast here with my mom once and we liked it :) The setting is so restfull early in the morning (if you are outdoors)…I have to go again soon…
M Cafe is one of my fave breakfast hangouts when coming from a graveyard shift! I like the food and the restful ambience.
hi Joey, i love going back there . . . i’m taking some overseas pinoy visitors there next week, hopefully . . . :-)
PaulN, good choice for a place to hangout after a graveyard shift!
Hello,
I’d like to know what’s happening tonight at the M Cafe. Thinking about taking my friend for a surprise birthday celebration just to chill out. Sometimes, there’s a jazz artist playing. Do you have a schedule?
Regards,
Abigail
