dinners hosted by the philippine ambassador to brunei, her excellency virginia h. benavidez, at her residence ang bahay, are not to be missed! not only she is a terrific host but arrangements starting from the pre-dinner appetizers to the table set-up and menu are always done with style and detailed to perfection. amba’s ang bahay in brunei is truly a proud showcase of filipino ingenuity . . . replete with authentic pinoy products — from furniture, decorative accessories, dinnerware, to kitchen utensils!
when an advance call (prior to the arrival of a formal invite) comes through from the embassy, informing about a forthcoming dinner, i can’t resist but say YES at once, and my mouth would then start to water at the thought of the fabulous pinoy spread that would be on her hapag-kainan!
