it’s ok . . . no worries . . . :-) the viaje was indeed fun . . . am not sure if the vigan tour pushed through . . . i hope to be back to ilocos norte and ilocos sur again within the next two months for another round of media blitz . . .

it was great meeting karen finally . . . and i’ve been back a few times already for more meetings with her . . . perhaps we should organize a trip to pampanga for your EB with her sometime soon . . . :-)

once in a while, i find myself thinking of that viaje … it was so relaxingly and surprisingly educational (is it so obvious, i just expected to eat), not to mention filling, and FUN. I’ve since been spreading nonoy’s tale about running in the hallways of Eng trying to get to the classroom ahead of his students – makes an interesting visual, doesn’t it. still makes me laugh. And ernest’s favorite question: if you were an animal… when? or how?

and the gosioco fare was the best! i guess i’m really not for the exotic palaka and stuff :) then again, i liked willie’s sisig. and willie himself. i’m always pleasantly surprised when there are people who think beyond themselves, and actually care about their community and the country.

now im rambling… that’s what u get when it’s almost 4am and there’s an unfinished report looking u in the eye, telling u it has to be presented at 10am. arrrgggghhhhhhh

I also remember the kilawen that my father used to do and serve to his drinking buddies. I have seen a real dinakdakan only once – the one with brains and not mayo.

The gorgorias are hard like the palipit that we know . . . it’s less sweeter too and the zesty flavour of the dayap makes you plop one piece after the other into your mouth . . . kinda addictive though . . . :-)

It is also interesting to know that an old house like the Gosioco house is being preserved, lived in and shared with everyone as a backdrop to enjoy heirloom cuisine…
