Last Monday, 19th March, an early morning meeting was held at the ‘orfanage.’ To jumpstart the day, attendees were treated to Max’s Restaurant’s new Power Breakfast line.
Unlike Toni of Wifely Steps, who, together with her officemates, trooped to the nearest Max’s branch, we got our treat in neat take away packs. The packed breakfast meals arrived at the ‘orfanage’ still warm and fresh!

I never got to plate the food properly as I got stuck in a discussion that took me away from the kitchen longer than expected. When I finally got to the dining room, everything was gone and all that was left for me was a plate of fried garlic rice topped with an egg and mixed sidings of beef tapa ang adobo flakes, well, plated for me by the other ‘orfans’ who almost forgot that I actually brought them the treat!

Pepperoni Omelet Meal. This is a warm welcome treat and addition to Max’s delectable breakfast fare. A creative departure from the usual ham and bacon fastfood staple, it consists of savoury pepperoni and cheese filled crepes, served with fresh bread loaf, orange slices and brewed coffee. This omelet treat is also available with vegetable filling.

Triple Chocolate Champorado with Fried Tuyo and Adobo Flakes Meal. This is the combo I ordered for myself that morning. But since I did not get to taste the champorado personally, I was told that its creamy, chocolatey goodness accompanied with pieces of tasty, scaleless and boneless gourmet tuyo makes it the ultimate treat to start the day with.
Chef Gene Gonzalez’s interesting Pinoy-progressive recipe of mouthwatering Adobo Flakes Meal of shredded bits of tasty chicken pork adobo – fried to crispy perfection, is a real delight to adobo freaks like Michelle and myself.

Beef Tapa. This classic breakfast treat and my favourite, is the 60-year old heirloom recipe of Max’s matriarch and founder, Nanay Ruby Trota. Served with rice and fried eggs, the tender beef slices marinated in Max’s special tapa seasoning has a yummy zesty hint of pineapple that leaves you craving for more!
Max’s Power Breakfast treats include: Bangus Meal, half-sized bangus marinated in garlic and vinegar for that real daing flavor; Tocino Meal, tender pork seasoned with salt and pepper, pan fried with a tangy caramelized coating; Longganisa Meal, two pieces of meaty chicken longganisa cured the hamonado way; Sausage Meal, juicy frankfurter slices and caramelized onions, sauteed in Max’s special sauce. All meals are served with Max’s specially brewed coffee from Indonesian Arabica and Robusta beans.
