The M Cafe at the Ayala Museum has been a regular breakfast venue for me during the first two months of my ‘homecoming’ because of its proximity [a short five-minute walk] from where I was staying. It is a perfect place for an unhurried breakfast or any meal during the day and of course, for one of my favourite pastimes —- people watching! People watching at the Cafe’s al fresco dining area is where some former colleagues, acquaintances and long-lost friends have come to discover that I was back home already!
Recently, I was there again with some friends for an impromptu breakfast meeting and ordered my favourite treats: the “M Umaga†and “Sticky Rice with Mango.”

M Umaga, traditional Pinoy [Filipino] breakfast: garlic fried rice, longganisa, beef tapa, daing the bangus, roasted tomato and fried eggs.

Their Sticky Rice with Mango came presented the way it’s shown in the photograph above . . . I liked the way they had the mango rolled into the sticky rice, however, I just thought it would have looked more appetizing had it been presented something like what I have playfully done, below, before finally devouring the “malagkit” treat!
