lasang pinoy or ‘a taste of filipino’ was conceived last may 2005, is a group comprised of pinoy food bloggers around the world. lasang pinoy aims to discuss, promote and create awareness about pinoy food on a global perspective, through technology — the powerful web. it aims to reach not only pinoys who are passionate about their own food, but others too, who might want to to share, have a deeper insight and understanding of pinoy food . . . baloooot! :-D :-D :-D
one recent project that has generated a lot of interest from its members is the lasang pinoy themed food blogging event which kicked-off last august 2005 with lasang pinoy 1: ninoy aquino day — the first and one i missed! i made it up by posting two entries in the lasang pinoy 2: cooking up a storm event . . .
each pinoy food blogger takes his/her turn in hosting . . . monthly themes [could be anything --- from pinoy food, pinoy food fads, pinoy food memories, pinoy food ingredients, or anything that's pinoy-food-related] are suggested by the hosting pinoy food blogger and announced to members. non-lasang pinoy members are also encouraged to participate — even if you don’t have a blog — the more the merrier, ika nga nila. email posts or entries are accepted . . . entries are then rounded-up by and at the host’s blog site, normally at the end of each blogging month.
there are now at least forty-five pinoy food bloggers on the lasang pinoy member list. and indeed, everyone here is having a ball what with the very healthy exchange of ideas, memories, experiences and a whole lot more! i personally, have never had so much fun like this, interacting with people i’ve never met or knew before . . .
we encourage everyone to join us here . . . let’s promote everything — the pinoy spirit we hold deep in our hearts which we have to be proud of, wherever we may all be . . .
